The W. G. Hefner Medical Center's parking garage in Salisbury, NC, successfully underwent crucial repairs due to previously identified safety concerns from falling concrete and corrosion. The project restored access to 1/3 of the previously closed parking spaces, significantly improving accessibility for handicapped veterans and ensuring safety for all visitors. Comprehensive structural repairs were completed, including fixing cracked concrete, replacing vulnerable connections, and making vehicle guards compliant with code. Preventive maintenance was also performed, which involved sealing joints, repairing and installing new traffic coatings, and repainting traffic markings.
