Our recent project at the West Haven VAMC involved critical repairs and updates to the Animal Research Facility's HVAC system on the 9th floor. Following a significant cold snap in January 2022, which damaged the primary HVAC system's pre-heat coil, our team was tasked with replacing the large, specialized coil and addressing issues with the Cemline steam generator. Additionally, the project included the replacement of faltering thermostatic control devices to ensure optimal operation. Coordinated closely with the COR, HVAC shop, and facility supervisor, our efforts ensured minimal disruption to the facility's operations. The project required meticulous planning, including coordination of safety measures and logistics such as road and parking closures for crane operations.
